About
My story
Where I started, where I've danced, and why I teach.
Where it started
I took my first tap class at eight, in a church basement with a cassette player and a plywood floor. By twelve I was helping the teacher run the little kids' class on Saturdays.
On the road
After school I spent six years dancing in touring shows and on cruise ships. Eight shows a week teaches you more than any class can.
- Show one
- Show two
- Company three
- Festival four
- Tour five
The studio
I opened the studio with two rooms and eleven students. Now there are four rooms, a sprung floor in every one, and classes six days a week.
What matters
Steps are the easy part. What I care about is the stuff underneath: listening to the music, showing up on time, and being kind to the person next to you at the barre.
- Rhythm
- Musicality
- Character
- Confidence
Today
These days I split my time between teaching, choreographing for local companies and getting the spring recital ready.
Come dance
You don't need to be good to start. You need to start to get good.
Classes for every age and level. Your first one is on me.
